Research on Japanese design policy and construction of archives

The Design Promotion Policy Archive is an activity to organize and publish literature on design administration and design promotion in Japan. This activity was started in 2018 by Koji Kuroda and Shiro Aoki, and now has about 300 digitized documents published.
This research report (about 120 pages) summarizes the activities from 2018 to 2021 carried out with the support of JIDS academic promotion subsidy. At the same time, an interview with a key person who was in charge of Japanese design administration and promotion activities is recorded. These interviews can be viewed on the homepage of the Design Promotion Policy Archive.
